If this is your child’s first year in any Faith Formation Class,
then you need to present a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate which
will be kept on file. If you bring
your child(ren)’s original
Certificate(s), we will copy it/them for you.

If your child is not baptized, they too can be registered for
Faith Formation sessions. If that
child is in the First Grade or higher, he/she is are required by the Holy
See, and confirmed by our American Bishops, to complete a Special Sacrament
of Initiation Program. This Program includes
faithful class attendance, Sunday Mass participation faithfully week after
week, and also completion of all RCIA Rites. These RCIA Rites
take place during Sunday Masses usually at 9:00 am or 5:00 pm for older
children. All of these Rites must be completed;
a Rite will be supplied if your child is sick and does miss a Rite. Upon completion of this program, the
children are given all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation,
and Holy Communion) during the Easter Vigil.

|
If your child is
preparing for the Sacrament(s) of Penance, First Holy Communion and/of
Confirmation, the American Bishops, as does our Archdiocese of Los Angeles,
require a minimum of two years immediate preparation of these Sacraments,
plus faithful class attendance, and Sunday Mass participation faithfully week
after week.

To receive the Sacrament
of Confirmation, the student must be in high school. The course runs two (2) years as does all
other Sacramental Courses.
