SUNDAY JUNE 17 2001  ST. JUDE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY  PAGE THREE

PETER'S PENCE COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND

The Annual Collection for the support of the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, will be taken up at all the Masses next weekend.  These funds are also used by his Holiness to help people throughout the world in emergencies.  These funds are also used by our Holy Father to implement consultative processes flowing from the Second Vatican Council, as well as various offices he uses to guide the pastoral work of the church.

Each of us is asked to please be as generous as possible.

This is another charity for us to share the second 5% of our Tithe Unto the Lord that the Lord asks that we generously return to Him for his many blessings.

Our Ushers/greeters are passing our special envelopes this weekend for this collection.

"Preserving Our Heritage...

Embracing Our Future"

St. Jude's Catholic Community's campaign to renovate the church and school, and build a new Pastoral Center is making every effort to involve the entire parish in the process of renovating and building structures and renewing our faith.

CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS UPDATE
Thanks to the many parishioners who have sacrificially participated, as of 6-12-01 the total pledged amount is $3,108,671.90.  Cash received to date is $725,200.54.

June Letter to Parishioners
A letter to those who have not yet returned their pledge cards will be going out this week.  Add your support to those who have already pledged and return your card today.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Why should I pledge?

  • Pledges keep the renewal project moving forward without interruption.
  • A pledge is a promise - not a legal contract.
  • A pledge can be amended or changed by notifying the Campaign Office.
  • A pledge is confidential.
  • Regular installments are encouraged. Monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
  • Pledge payments are tax deductible.
  • A down payment is desirable but not mandatory. Make your pledge even if a down payment is not possible.
  • No Average Gift is suggested. Equal Sacrifice, Not Equal Gifts is our motto.
  • Each family is asked to pledge a gift according to their individual means.
  • Pledges bring us closer to the spiritual renewal of our community.
