SCHOOL NEWS

SCRIP CERTIFICATES

All interested in purchasing Scrip Certificates to benefit our Parish School can contact Sharon Rhatigan at 818 - 707 - 2447 for the list of all participating merchants.

LABELS & BOXTOPS

We are still collecting Campbell's soup labels, and General Mills boxtops.  At the end of this school year, we can turn these in for free equipment and/or cash.  Please continue to clip and save these labels and boxtops, and bring them to the box at the front doors of the church or to the Parish School Office.    Thanks!
TOOLS 4 SCHOOLS
Every time you visit Oaks Mall please remember St. Jude the Apostle Parish School can receive points for every dollar you spend.  Currently we are receiving five (5) points for every dollar spent at department stores and ten (10) points for every purchase at specialty shops.  Simply take a moment of your time to log your receipts at the Customer Service Booth located in the Center of the Oaks Mall.  You can also log your receipts by dropping them off at our School Office.  We are currently in 2nd place (out of 35 schools).  Our goal is to be number #1 and win a $2,500.00 gift certificate!
Thank you to one and all who are supporting the Tools 4 Schools contest.  Last year we won a $800.00 gift certificate to the Oaks Mall to buy school supplies.
For more information, please contact Louisa Jeworski at
805 - 493 - 4400

55 PLUS

The 55 Plus Club is taking a short breather until this coming Fall.  Since the Parish Hall is becoming our temporary church structure and our storage space is needed for sacristy items (vestments, vessels, etc.), and because it is hard for 55 plus folks to carry around everything needed for meetings, we are putting our monthly meetings on hold.

For any questions, please contact Diane at
818 - 706 - 2721

AN INVITATION
From Fr. Bill and our Parish Family
If You Are Not a Catholic

You are always welcome amongst us! You may come as often as you like to our Sunday Eucharist and any of our other celebrations or activities. You are invited to come and find out what we Catholic Christians are all about. We would really like to tell you what we believe as Catholic Christians, how we express our beliefs and how we live it.
We are not perfect--we are sinners who have hope because of our faith in Christ Jesus. We acknowledge that we are sinners who are trying to repent and to change our ways, so we can believe more deeply in the Good News of Jesus and live out the Gospel more faithfully in our daily lives. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Promised One, and that He came to save us. We very much believe in the forgiveness of sin and God's unconditional love for all of His children. We have experienced God's movement and presence in the Catholic Christian Church.
We would love to have you as a part of our community, so we invite you to join us.

Do you want to instill Christian values in your children?

Then come join our "Familia" group for mothers and children.  We gather twice a month to pray, share, listen, learn and make new friends, and so grow in the family ("familia") of the Lord.
