DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

This Wednesday, April 3rd, will be our Monthly Day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.  The day begins with the Liturgy of the Hours Morning Prayer at 7:45 a.m. followed by Mass which ends with Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament will continue throughout the day in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.  Reposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament will be at 7:15 p.m. followed by the 7:30 p.m. Liturgy and Novena to St. Jude.

Surely each of us can spend some time praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

CONFIRMATION

His Excellency, Bishop Thomas J. Curry, D.D., Santa Barbara Regional Bishop, will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our high school youth and to some adults at the 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday, April 13th.

One and all are invited to come and celebrate with our Confirmands.  Bishop Curry will pose after Mass for pictures with the Confirmands and their Sponsors and families.  Our Knights of Columbus will help direct traffic.  Please follow their instructions.

For those who attend the 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass, please remember Confirmation will be administered during that Mass on April 13th.

NB:  There will be a rehearsal for all Confirmands (youth and adults) and their Sponsors at 7:00 p.m. next Sunday evening.  Confessions will be available for Confirmands, Sponsors or others during the rehearsal.

FIRST FRIDAY April 5th

This Friday, April 5th, will be First Friday.     Confessions will be heard Thursday afternoon and evening as usual.

FIRST SATURDAY

St. Jude's Knights of Columbus will lead First Saturday devotions in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel after the 8:00.a.m. Mass.

WHITE SUNDAY NEXT WEEKEND

The Sunday after Easter is commonly known as "White Sunday."  On that date, all who have gone through the RCIA Process anywhere are encouraged to attend the 9:00 a.m. Mass in their "White Baptismal Robes."

If you were part of any RCIA Process, you are invited and most welcome to join in celebrating your Initiation into the Catholic Christian Church by attending the 9:00 a.m. Mass and walking in with this year's Fully-Initiated Catholic Christians.  Unpack that "Baptismal Robe" and join us this coming Sunday.

PRAY FOR THOSE RECEIVING SACRAMENTS

During this Paschal Season, many have and will be receiving the Sacraments of Initiation.  At the Easter Vigil last night, our adult and children converts received all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion).  Other adults will be completing their Sacraments of Initiation by receiving Confirmation with our high school students on Saturday, April 13th.  As noted, our high school youth will be completing their Sacraments of Initiation by receiving Confirmation from Bishop Thomas J. Curry at the 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday, April 13th.  Our younger children will be receiving Jesus for the first time in the Sacrament of Holy Communion during the last two weekends of April at all the Masses.

To help you recognize the person whose name you drew, pictures of all those receiving these Sacraments are now posted in the vestibule area of the church.

ST. VINCENT de PAUL BUNDLE SUNDAY
Next Sunday

Next Sunday, April 7th, will be St. Vincent de Paul Bundle Sunday here at St. Jude's.  Please bring your usable clothing and household items to their truck parked near the Media Building at the school.  As you do your spring cleaning, this is an excellent way to share your usable clothing, household items and furniture with those less fortunate.     There is currently a desperate need for furniture and large appliances.

Please make sure all clothing is clean and usable.     Also, all household items.

Large items can be picked-up at your home by calling
323 - 224 - 6280 or 800 - 97 - HELP-1.
