"WELCOME NEWCOMERS SUNDAY"
The first Sunday of each month is "Welcome Newcomers Sunday" after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Free coffee and donuts are offered to all Newcomers to our parish, and also to any who wish to partake. You do not have to be a Newcomer to enjoy. But as you enjoy, take a moment to welcome some one new to our parish community.

FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY
The first Sunday of each month is also "Fellowship Sunday" after the 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Sunday Masses. Everyone is invited and encouraged to stop by the tables in the patio to say "Hello!" to new and old friends. This is also a great opportunity to find-out what is happening in our parish, and to look over the many ministries being featured each month. Consider joining a parish ministry or activity. You are also invited to have a cup of coffee, and enjoy a donut. Baby-sitting will be provided while you browse the Ministry Table and look over the different flyers with useful info about our different ministries and activities.

SCOUT SUNDAY
Today is Scout Sunday. February 9th is the 92nd birthday of the Boy Scouts of America, and the 90th birthday of the Girl Scouts of America.
Today at the 9:00 am Mass Catholic Scouting Religious Awards that have been earned by our Scouts will be awarded. Wolf Cub Scouts (grade 2) have earned the "Light of Christ" award. Junior Girl Scouts (grades 5 & 6) have earned their Rosary patch. And Webelos Cub Scouts (grades 5 & 6) have earned the "Parvuli Dei --- the Children of God" award. Congratulations to these Scouts and to their leaders, and congratulations to all Scouts and leaders as they celebrate the birthday of Scouting. Many thanks to all the dedicated parents who help with these scouting programs.
An interesting fact: March 12, 1912 is recognized as the birthday of the Girl Scouts of America. That is the day Margaret Daisy Gordon became the first registered Girl Guide of America. The group name was later changed to the Girl Scouts of America, and the Daisy Troop (kindergarten girls) is named for their first Girl Scout Margaret "Daisy" Gordon.

RESPECT LIFE WEEKEND
This the first Sunday of the month, and so is Respect Life Weekend. You are encouraged to stop by the Respect Life Tables in front of the church today as you leave the morning Masses. Look over their materials. They have cassettes and videos to borrow, so you can enjoy them at home and reflect upon their message.
