SEVENTH ANNUAL
"COMMITMENT TO LIFE" WEEKEND

This coming Saturday, January 19, 2002, the 7th Annual Commitment to Life Conference will be held at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills.  Keynote speaker will be Mary Ellen Bork, founding member of "Women Affirming Life."  Closing speaker will be Father Frank Pavone, Director of "Priests for Life."  There will be 12 workshops in-between that will cover a full range of life issues.  Note the special workshop for teens this year.
The day begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m.  All who believe that human life is sacred from conception to natural end are invited to participate in this yearly event.  This conference helps renew and energize one's commitment to the sanctity of human life.  Call

GOURMET DINNER
and
AWARDS FOR CHRISTIAN SERVICE


Bishop Thomas Curry and the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities, Ventura County Region, invite one and all to its Annual "Partners in Service" awards dinner on Saturday, January 26th, at the Westlake Inn, Provence Room, 31943 Agoura Road in Westlake Village. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a Silent Auction and No Host Refreshments.  A gourmet dinner follows  at  7:00  p.m. 

Our parish is participating in this event that will recognize a parishioner who has contributed his/her faithful service to the parish and to the local community, especially to the poor and to those with special needs.  All proceeds will be used locally in the many Catholic Charities programs which includes Adeste (child-care), Oasis (elderly care), and the local community service centers which work with the poorest of the poor.

Parishioners throughout Ventura County being honored will receive a special award signed by the Cardinal Archbishop and will have their picture taken with Bishop Curry.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS INFORMATION NITE

Our parish sponsored Knights of Columbus Council will be on Wednesday evening, January 30th, at 7:00 p.m. in our Parish Hall.  Come and bring your family.  Have some dessert and enjoy some fellowship with your fellow parishioners

The Knights of Columbus today are 1,600,000 men strong.  They give more than 50 million hours of volunteer service every year throughout the world.  They have given $100 million every year to the needy and the causes of the Catholic Church.  Member benefits include scholarships, student loans, life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance.

818 - 889 - 1279, ext. 212, and give her the city of birth of the head of household and also the last four digits of the head of household's Social Security number.    This is for security reasons.
