SUNDAY APRIL 29, 2001  ST. JUDE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY  PAGE THREE

"Preserving Our Heritage...

Embracing Our Future"

St. Jude's has embarked on a campaign to renovate the church and school, as well as build a new Pastoral Center, which will include an auditorium, administrative offices and classrooms. Your pledge is key to gaining matching funds from the Archdiocese.

Is a pledge a legal contract?

No. It's a promise.

How much do I pledge?

Equal sacrifice, not equal gifts. That's our motto.

Do I have to pay it all at once?

You can pay in as many installments as you choose-over 60 months, or quarterly or semi-annually.
You decide.

Is it tax deductible?

Absolutely.

What is Commitment Sunday?

It's next week! May 6th - the day to turn in your pledge cards. Place them in the collection basket, drop them by the church office, or simply mail them in the envelope provided. Thanks again for your generous sacrifice.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS

Second grade First Holy Communions are continuing this weekend.    Our parish children last weekend and this weekend are receiving Jesus in His Eucharistic Presence for the first time at the Mass they normally attend each weekend with their family.   Let us all pray for these parish children and their families that they may always be close to Our Lord.

Because parents are the first teachers of their children, they have the chief responsibility to share the Faith by their example, by their words, and by bringing their children to catechetical classes.     Parents show their primacy as educators by bringing their children to the Community of Faith for Baptism.    Parents bring their children to the confessional for God's healing mercy and forgiveness.    Parents also bring their children to the Lord to receive Him for the first time.     May God truly bless and reward these loving parents, who not only share earthly blessings with their children, but who care enough to share heavenly values and graces with their children!     May God daily help these parents continue to be real examples of the living faith!
