     "Preserving Our Heritage…
                      Embracing Our Future"

This week we inaugurate a new section in the bulletin designed to keep you informed about St. Jude's ongoing building and renovation project.  We will answer your questions and keep you up-to-date on our latest events and achievements.

What is "Preserving Our Heritage...Embracing Our Future?"

Quite simply, it is a new era for our parish community.  Under the proposed plan, we are going to renovate the church, which is about two decades old.  Among other things we will expand the vestibule, move the baptismal font to the entrance and provide much-needed emergency lighting and handicapped accessibility.

  We also plan to renovate the school administrative offices, add a science lab and a full -size library.

Across from the church there will be a new two-story complex-the Pastoral Center-that will include an auditorium, meeting rooms and administrative offices.  It will have everything from a new and improved sound system to better handicapped access.

The current driveway between the Church and the Pastoral Center will be replaced with an open-air courtyard, a gathering place for our community.  A new space, and as we said, a new era.

Bottom line- how much does the campaign need and how close are we to getting there?

We need $7.5 million to achieve our goals.  We have already raised $1.5 million--and that is with only 2% of our parishioners responding.
