THANK YOU
During the "Concern America" Handicraft Fair on Sunday, October 22nd, 2000, once again the community of St. Jude's came through after the morning Masses, and bought items totaling $1,249.00.
In addition, each month St. Jude's community buys articles from the Parish Gift Shoppe. The profits from the items sold from this Shoppe, also are given to support the work of "Concern America". Currently we are supporting a lay-missionary from Ireland and his family in Chiapas, Mexico. Thanks to the efforts of this man and his family, the local Indians are growing in their faith rather than being led astray as happened in the Indian village of San Juan de Chamula.
"Concern America" also wishes to express its deep appreciation to Monsignor Bill Leser, to Denise Cortes and the Confirmation students, and to everyone at St. Jude's for your support and encouragement. Your efforts have helped spread hope for a better future to hundreds and hundreds of economically disadvantaged people. By your selecting gifts from the cooperatives featured at this sale, you enabled the producers of the crafts to earn a fair and just wage, to support their families, and to preserve their traditional hand-art cultures. All at "Concern America" are most grateful.

BIBLE STUDY - Sunday to Sunday
Please come join us in preparing for next Sunday's Mass. We meet to learn about and discuss the Readings for the upcoming Sunday Liturgy. Each week we watch a 20 minute video, stopping the tape at appropriate moments to discuss the material presented. We enjoy lively conversation, faith sharing moments, and good Christian fellowship, as we learn more about the Bible and thereby enable ourselves to be more fully prepared to celebrate next Sunday's Mass.
Tuesday mornings 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Room 7. This week we will do the "Third Sunday of Advent" (C)." All are welcome! Come prepare for next Sunday's Mass! No preparation! No homework!
Father Bill will speak to the group this Tuesday, December 12th, at 9:00 a.m. regarding St. Luke, whose Gospel is being proclaimed Sundays during Year C. He will also answer questions regarding the Bible, especially regarding the Sunday Readings. For more information, please contact Linda Odre at 805 - 373 - 1348.
