55 PLUS+ CLUB MEETING WEDNESDAY November 8th
St. Jude's 55+ Club meets this Wednesday, November 8th, after the 12:05 p.m. Mass. If you enjoy seniors, then our 55 Plus Club is for you. Age does not matter. Any age is welcome! Come along and join our crowd.
We begin with a Pot Luck. Just bring along a homemade or a store-bought dish --- salad, hot dish, dessert. Whatever your taste buds desire, will please us. We enjoy food and company! And, do bring along a friend!
Identification is never checked. So if you think, you enjoy seniors then welcome. Come right on along!
After our Pot Luck we have a talk or social. Deacon Joe Manion will give a short presentation this month about being a Permanent Deacon and the primary ministry of a Deacon.
N.B.: Sign-Up during this meeting for the Senior Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, November 19th in the Parish Hall after the 12:00 Noon Mass.
ALSO: Please bring to this meeting food for our "Adopt-A-Family". Items such as boxes of cake mix, dry and hot cereals, cans of veggies and fruits, cans of soups and juices, canned meats, dry meal mixes, dry beans and rice, canned sauces. If for some reason you cannot attend this Wednesday, you may take your donations to the Parish Pastoral Office with a note that they are for the 55+ Club "Adopt-A-Family".

GET INVOLVED! MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Make a difference in a child's life by becoming a Catholic Big Brother! There are an awful lot of boys and girls that do not know their dad. These youngsters lost their dads through divorce, death, or just plain abandonment. These youngsters earnestly are seeking a friendly relationship of their own with some adult male.
If you have a few hours each month, that is all that it takes, then you should consider becoming a Catholic Big Brother. Desperately needed are men 18 years of age and older to help a child by spending 3-4 hours a week encouraging that child --- a boy or a girl --- in his/her studies, sports, and in dealing with everyday kid stuff. It is a horrible time for a young boy or girl to not have a mentor to discuss problems with, to be a friend, to be a mentor! There are more than 200 fatherless boys and girls waiting to be matched. All it takes, is including a child in the things you already do.
With the Holidays quickly approaching, this is a very good time to become a Big Brother or Female Mentor to a child in our community through Catholic Big Brothers. To find out what is involved or how to do this, call today: 800 - 463 - 4066.
