SCHOOL NEWS

E-SCRIP  Vons Market is now on the E-Scrip Program. Each time you shop there and run your Vons card through, St. Jude's School automatically receives credit. All you need to do is to register by sending in an application. Applications are available in the Parish Office.  What an easy way to help our parish school.

SCRIP CERTIFICATES  Anyone interested in more information about purchasing Scrip certificates can contact Sharon Rhatigan at 818 707-2447. She can give you a list of all participating merchants.

ALBERTSON'S CARDS  Albertson's shopping cards are also available in the parish office. Simply pick one up and have the cashier scan it every time you shop at Albertson's . Credit will immediately be given to St. Jude's School.

LABELS AND BOXTOPS  We are still collecting Campbell's soup labels and General Mills box tops. At the end of the school year, we can turn these in for free equipment and/or cash. Please continue to  clip and save these labels and box tops and drop them in the box at the front of the church or to the Parish School office.

TOOLS-4-SCHOOL  Please remember to get your Oaks Mall receipts stamped at the information booth in the Oaks Mall or simply drop them off in the school office to help our school win a $2,500 gift certificate to buy school  supplies!  As you begin your holiday shopping please keep in mind that our school can earn points for every dollar you spend at the mall!  Thank you for your support!  For more information contact Louisa Jeworski 805 493-4400.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ONE DAY RETREAT
OPEN TO ALL MEN

Brother Knights are invited along with other Catholic Gentlemen to a one-day Retreat on Saturday, November 4th to be held at Holy Spirit Retreat House, 4316 Lanai Rd., Encino.

The cost is $30 including continental breakfast, lunch and the retreat fee. This is a non-refundable fee. At this time no retreat master has been named.  The day will conclude with Mass in the Chapel at 5:00 p.m. fulfilling your Mass obligation.  Wives are welcome to join the men for Mass.  Those who plan to attend may carpool down.

WELCOME NEWCOMERS


If you are new to our parish community, please come by our Pastoral Parish Office to meet the staff and priests and to register.     If time is of the essence, then pick up a registration form from the back of the church, fill it out and turn it in.      Soon after registering, our Newcomers Hospitality will visit your home and share with you about our many parish activities, and then you can leave your imprint on who we are.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
CHARITY FOR RETARDED CHILDREN

The annual Knights of Columbus campaign for funds to assist local agencies in the care of mentally retarded children will take place this weekend.

In partnership with our Knights, St. Jude's youth from the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Columbian Squires are invited to assist in this service activity.

Donations will be solicited after the masses on Saturday & Sunday, October 28 th & 29 th.  Everyone who contributes to this worthy cause will receive Tootsie Rolls, compliments of the Knights of Columbus.
