SR. ANTONIA'S BIBLE STUDY
"Women in the Old Testament"

Sr. Antonia Byrne, S.S.L., has a wonderfully exciting Bible Study this semester,
"Women in the Old Testament".     The unique characteristics of each of these women --- some queens, some slaves, some housewives --- make stories to feed our imaginations, it also encourages men and women to want to study more of the Bible.

Tuesday Evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m.    And, there is a repeat session on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.     We hope to see you there!

PS:    The Bible should be like a good friend.    So please mark passages!    Write notes!   So you can quickly open your ole friend and be fed by God's Holy Word!

EMBRACING THE DYING MINISTRY

One of the most special ministries in our parish is "Embracing the Dying".    Those in this ministry embrace those who are dying and their families.     They serve as spiritual hospice persons.     Helping the dying person and the family to share last thoughts and feelings.     Helping the family to accept the impending death of a loved one.     Helping the dying person with their family to compose their funeral service:  music, Readings, etc.    So that on the day of the Christian Burial ritual, the family truly feels one with their beloved who has died and gone to the Lord, and knows that their loved one helped put this together as what they wanted all to feel, and be comforted by, during the funeral rituals.

If you would like to join this ministry of love and compassion, please contact either Debbie Meier at
818 - 597 - 1464, or Jean Marie Cull at 805 - 497 - 6473.

FIFTY-FIVE PLUS CLUB

No meeting this month because of Oktoberfest.    St. Jude's 55+ Club meets the second Wednesday of each month after the 12:05 p.m. Mass.    If you enjoy seniors, then our 55 Plus Club is for you.    Age does not matter.    Any age is welcome!     Come along and join our crowd.     Next meeting will be November 8th.

We begin with a Pot Luck.    Just bring along a homemade or a store-bought dish --- salad, hot dish, dessert.     Whatever your taste buds desire, will please us.    We enjoy food and company!    And, do bring along a friend!

Deacon Joe and Carol Manion will speak next month about being a Permanent Deacon family.

HAVE YOU FALLEN AWAY
&
NOW WANT TO RETURN

We have a wonderful program for all who have fallen-away from the practice of our Catholic Faith.   It pauses to listen to the hurts and the pains, to the misunderstandings and difficulties.     It reflects upon what the Catholic Christian Faith is all about.      It hopefully encourages and helps those participating in it, to know the Lord's merciful, healing love and comfort.

No one says anything to put anyone down.    All listen and share openly and caringly.   Hopefully this program helps those who have fallen-away to come back Home.     We do miss you!     We do wish you would come back Home!       We are not whole without you!

Next program begins after the Christmas and New Year holidays.     Deacon Joe Manion heads up this healing ministry.      For more information, please contact Deacon Joe at
818 - 889 - 1279, ext. 219.

ENHANCE THE SPARKLE IN YOUR MARRIAGE

Rediscover the one you love!    Do you remember how your eyes sparkled and your heart throbbed during those early days of your marriage.    You can bring back much of that sparkle and romance and enrich your marriage for years to come, by making a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend.    This is a really great opportunity to set aside some time from your busy lifestyles and rekindle that spark in your spouse's eyes and heart.     The next weekend will be November 17th, 18th and 19th.
