HEY GUYS!
You men are needed badly! Guys are important! There are an awful lot of boys and girls that do not know their dad. These youngsters lost their dads through divorce, death, or just plain abandonment. These youngsters earnestly are seeking a friendly relationship of their own with some adult male.
Catholic Big Brothers is trying to help solve this difficulty. Catholic Big Brothers are desperately seeking men 18 years of age and older to help a child by spending 3-4 hours a week encouraging that child --- a boy or a girl --- in his/her studies, sports, and in dealing with everyday kid stuff. School is beginning! It is a horrible time for a young boy or girl to not have a mentor to discuss problems with, to be a friend, to be a mentor!
Now is a good time to become a Big Brother or Female Mentor to a child in our community through Catholic Big Brothers. To find out what is involved or how to do this, call today: 800 - 463 - 4066.
Parish groups can get involved by monthly group outings for unmatched kids.

CATHOLIC PARENTS OF GAYS & LESBIANS
The next meeting of Catholic parents of gays and lesbians will be held the last Wednesday, October 25th, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of John and Christine Cooley. Father Michael Carcerano, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima, will be in attendance,
As an Archdiocesan sponsored group, all parents of gays and lesbians are invited to join our Deanery Four family of concern, which is growing as we share and understand better our children and also our church's position on this sensitive issue. These meetings are held monthly on the Fourth Wednesday. Meetings are informal and confidential.

SANDWICHES FOR LAS FAMILIAS AND IMPACTO
Sandwiches for the children at Las Familias and Impacto will be made on Monday, October 16th at 10:00 a.m. in the parish hall.
A welcome gift this month will be bags of small toys, army men, cars, animals, etc.
We will visit the Sisters Disciples of the Divine Master and would like to take paper goods and toiletries to them. For information about Sandwiches making or donations call 805 496-6345.
