SR. ANTONIA'S BIBLE STUDY "Women in the Old Testament"
Sr. Antonia Byrne, S.S.L., has a wonderfully exciting Bible Study this semester: "Women in the Old Testament". The unique characteristics of each of these women --- some queens, some slaves, some housewives --- make stories to feed our imaginations and encourage men and women to want to study more of the Bible.
Not only does this program give us personal knowledge and growth, it also makes it easier and more comfortable for us to share our faith. Strengthening our knowledge of the Bible, with Sister Antonia as our experienced guide, makes the Bible and its message come alive.
This exciting program began last week, but it is not too late to join. Tuesday Evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. And, there is a repeat session on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
PS: The Bible should be like a good friend. So please mark passages! Write notes! So you can quickly open your ole friend and be fed by God's Holy Word!

WELCOME NEWCOMERS
If you are new to our parish community, please come by our Pastoral Parish Office to meet the staff and priests and to register. If time is of the essence, then garb a registration form from the back of the church, fill it out and turn it in. Soon after registering, our Newcomers Hospitality will visit your home and share with you about our many parish activities, and then you can leave your imprint on who we are.
If you are interested in welcoming newcomers to our parish family, please contact Denise Ferrone at 818 - 597 - 9177 or Monica Larson at 818 991-7440.

RCIA SPONSORS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to study with and walk with those wishing to know about our Catholic Christian Faith. All that is needed, is to have a willing heart to listen and to share.
Many Catholics shy away from answering questions about our Catholic Faith, whether the question comes from a child or an adult. Serving as an RCIA Sponsor is a fantastic way to learn our Faith as you help others on their journey with the Lord. RCIA Sponsors learn ever as they helping others learn, as we share our stories and reflect on God's Word. For all the while, the Lord is touching the Sponsor's heart and mind, while touching also the heart and soul of the person searching to know the Lord.
To find-out more about this wonderful ministry in the Lord's Vineyard, or to volunteer, please call Nancy McAvoy at 805 - 480 - 4031, or Jenifer Carmichael at 805 - 497 - 2551.

CONFIRMATION
In the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Confirmation is conferred on high school students who have completed two years of classes. These classes are open to all students who are in high school. Classes are held in homes on different evenings to allow for a student's schedule. There are communal gatherings at the parish periodically, and a weekend retreat once each year. All Confirmation students are also required to complete hours of Christian Service to God and neighbor. They are also required to have a Sponsor who lives locally who can journey with them during communal gatherings, and take part in Rites. And, they are additionally required to attend the Archdiocesan Youth Day in Anaheim
