ENCUENTRO 2000

Encuentro 2000 will hold its Next Session on Wednesday, October 25th, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.      All are welcome!

Encuentro 2000 is the National Celebration of the Jubilee Year by the Catholic Bishops of the United States.     In each parish throughout our country, six participant friendly sessions are being held with the goal of bringing together ministries that make-up our American parishes and improving on how we interrelate.     New parish members are particularly encouraged to attend and get involved.

We meet to discuss and learn, not to challenge nor to judge, nor to try to change others.    Rather, through dialogue, we seek to develop better strategies for our parish to welcome all, celebrate racial, ethnic, cultural, and other group diversities. All are encouraged to attend.      If you have any questions, please call Joe Bowman at
818 - 889 - 6876 after 6:00 p.m.

Don't forget to join us and be there on time.

DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

This Wednesday, October 4th, is our Monthly Day of Prayer for Vocation to the Priesthood and Religious Life.      The day begins with the Liturgy of Hours Morning Prayer at 7:45 a.m.     Then come Mass at 8:00 a.m. followed by Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament till Benediction at 7:15 p.m.     The day closes with Mass at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Novena to St. Jude.

Surely each of us can come and spend some time in prayer with Jesus for vocations.    Let us not only pray for an increase of vocations, but let us also pray for all who have responded to that Call that they may persevere.
