MUSIC TEACHER NEEDED
ST. JUDE THE APOSTLE SCHOOL

St. Jude the Apostle School is looking for someone to fill the position of Music Teacher at the school. 

Duties are: weekly music instruction for grades K through 8, (30 minute sessions for each grade.)  Weekly music practice for Friday Liturgy for grades 1 -5 held on Thursday afternoons in the church. 

Coordination and attendance at Friday morning liturgies, cantor instruction, coordination of weekly liturgies - work with each classroom teacher regarding Friday liturgy, May Procession, Feast of St. Jude and Graduation Ceremony, and attendance at Tuesday morning faculty meetings.

A degree in Liturgical Music is preferred. Please call Vincent Adams, Music Director at

SCHOOL NEWS

E-SCRIP  Vons Market is now on the E-Scrip Program. Each time you shop there and run your Vons card through, St. Jude's School automatically receives credit. All you need to do is to register by sending in an application. Applications are available in the Parish Office. There is a $10.00 registration fee, however E-Scrip currently has a promotion going through September 30th. If you register for E-Scrip before September 30, 2000, you will receive the $10.00 registration fee back in the form of a Vons gift certificate. What an easy way to help our parish school.

SCRIP CERTIFICATES  Anyone interested in more information about purchasing Scrip certificates can contact Sharon Rhatigan at 818 707-2447. She can give you a list of all participating merchants.

ALBERTSON'S CARDS  Albertson's shopping cards are also available in the parish office. Simply pick one up and have the cashier scan it every time you shop at Albertson's . Credit will immediately be given to St. Jude's School.

LABELS AND BOXTOPS  We are still collecting Campbell's soup labels and General Mills box tops. At the end of the school year, we can turn these in for free equipment and/or cash. Please continue to  clip and save these labels and box tops and drop them in the box at the front of the church or to the Parish School office.

TOOLS-4-SCHOOL  Please continue to support the Tools-4-Schools program. Receipts for purchases made at the Oaks Mall can be taken to the customer service center in the Center Court for credit. The associate will log them into a book under our school name and return the receipts to you. Also, there is a box marked "Tools-4-Schools" in the office for anyone who does not need their receipts returned. Please contact Louisa Jeworski 805 493-4400 for information.

MAGAZINE DRIVE  The Parish School will hold a Magazine Drive fundraiser beginning September 27th. IF you have a subscription coming up for renewal or are interested in a new subscription, please contact Vi-Ella Blanco at the school office 818 889-9483. If the magazine you are interested in is one of the participating subscriptions, our school will receive 50% of any renewals and new subscriptions!!!

ATTENTION ALL SWIMMERS

St. Jude Parish Swim Team is looking for swimmers ages 5-14 to participate this swim season beginning September 17th.

The swim team is open to all parishioners
. You do not have to be a student at St. Jude's School.

This is a great parish activity. Let's all get out and support our  Swim Team!

NEWCOMER'S HOSPITALITY

Please join us after the 9:00 a.m. Mass the first Sunday of every month for complimentary juice and donuts sponsored by our Newcomer's Hospitality.

All parishioners, especially those new to St. Jude's are encouraged to stop by and say hello.
