SR. ANTONIA'S BIBLE STUDY
"Women in the Old Testament"

Sr. Antonia Byrne, S.S.L., begins an exciting Bible Study this week:
"Women in the Old Testament".     The unique characteristics of each of these women --- some queens, some slaves, some housewives --- make stories to feed our imaginations and encourage men and women to want to study more of the Bible.

Not only does this program give us personal knowledge and growth, it also makes it easier and more comfortable for us to share our faith.    Strengthening our knowledge of the Bible, with Sister Antonia as our experienced guide, makes the Bible and its message come alive.

This exciting program begins this week.    Tuesday Evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m.    And, there is a repeat session on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.     We hope to see you there!

The "New American  Bibles" are available after all Masses today.    Stop by and consider buying a new or additional Bibles for you and your family.

PS:    The Bible should be like a good friend.    So please mark passages!    Write notes!   So that you can quickly open your ole friend and be fed by God's Holy Word!

CARE-GIVERS
"Respite & Renewal"

"Respite & Renewal" is a wonderful program designed to offer Caregivers support.

We all become a Care Giver at some time during our lives.    When we become a parent of an emotionally and/or physically disabled child; or we have elderly parents or relatives to care for;   or we are involved in many bereavement or detention or other ministries that drain us even as we serve.   From time to time we need a
"Respite" and we need to be "Renewed".

This group meets every First Thursday in Rooms 3 & 4 of the Parish Hall from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.     Next gathering will meet on Thursday, October 5th.     No dues!     No fees!     Just sharing and support and love.

For more information, please contact Margaret Pontius
Evenings Only at 818 - 706 - 1842.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Children's Liturgy of the Word is celebrated at the 9:00 a.m. Mass beginning September 24th. Children in the first through fifth grades are brought to an area in the parish school to listen and discuss the Liturgy of the Word in language that is appropriate for their level. They return to the church at the beginning of the Eucharist. This is not part of the Sunday school program held at the same time in the parish hall. You do not need to register your child, just send him or her when the priest calls the children to the Altar.

We need your help! Carol Livingston gave many wonderful years to developing this program, as have many of our leaders. However, Carol and a few of the leaders will be moving on since their children have outgrown the program. If you love young children and would like this program to continue, there are many different ways for you to help.

We especially need parishioners to help with music and be leaders of the Liturgy of the Word.
You will be trained...you won't be on your own!

Your commitment could only be once a month if we have enough help! Call Cindy Kozal if you have questions and for information. Home: 818 707-7629. Work:  818 889-0612.
