BIBLE STUDY
How can we share our faith more effectively? The best way is to be comfortable in our own knowledge of our faith. Come and strengthen your knowledge of the bible with Sister Antonia Byrne as your experienced guide.
We are excited about the program for this fall-- something that has not been done before -- "Women in the Old Testament". The unique characteristics of each of the women - some queens, - some slaves - make stories to feed our imagination and encourage the men and women of St. Jude to want to study more of the bible.
The program will begin the week of September 17th. There will be two separate classes each week; one on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and again on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The first evening class will begin on Tuesday, September 19th at 7:30 p.m. The first morning class begins on Thursday, September 21st at 9:30 a.m.
We hope to see you there!
On "Bible Weekend", September 16th and 17th we will be selling the New American Bible after all the Masses for an outstanding price. Stop and see us for a new or additional Bible for you and your family.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Children's Liturgy of the Word is celebrated at the 9:00 a.m. Mass beginning September 24th. Children in the first through fifth grades are brought to an area in the parish school to listen and discuss the Liturgy of the Word in language that is appropriate for their level. They return to the church at the beginning of the Eucharist. This is not part of the Sunday school program held at the same time in the parish hall. You do not need to register your child, just send him or her when the priest calls the children to the Altar.
We need your help! Carol Livingston gave many wonderful years to developing this program, as have many of our leaders. However, Carol and a few of the leaders will be moving on since their children have outgrown the program. If you love young children and would like this program to continue, there are many different ways for you to help.
We especially need parishioners to help with music and be leaders of the Liturgy of the Word. You will be trained...you won't be on your own!
Your commitment could only be once a month if we have enough help! Call Cindy Kozal if you have questions and for information. Home: 818 707-7629. Work: 818 889-0612.
