MISSION CO-OP COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND

Father James Moran, who is a Paulist Father, will be this coming weekend August 12th and 13th to preach all Masses on the missionary works of the Paulist Community.    This represents our parish's participation in the Annual Archdiocesan Cooperative Program.

Father Issac Thomas Hecker founded the Paulist Fathers in New York City in 1858.   In the spirit of its founder, the Paulist Fathers continue to communicate the Gospel in its three-fold mission:
Evangelization, Reconciliation and Ecumenism.

Whether through television (such as Father Elwood's Kaiser's half hour dramas on the faith), radio, press, parish, campus or downtown center, the Paulist use the means of our time to communicate the Gospel.    They seek out the unchurched, those who feel cut off from the Church, and reach-out to other religious traditions and work toward a common reunion of one Church.

The Usher/Greeters are passing-out special envelopes this weekend.     Please be generous next weekend.     For those who are tithing, this is an excellent charity to  share your second 5% of Tithe unto the Lord.

HAVE YOU DONE YOUR PART TO HELP "OUR SISTER PARISH"?

If you have not yet made your 2000 Pledge Commitment to our Sister Parish, Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Los Angeles, and helping those less fortunate, please prayerfully consider doing so now or whenever your financial picture changes.     We cannot ignore the needs of our poorest sisters and brothers.     Rather, we need to stand in most heartfelt, and genuine support, with them.

"Together in Mission" truly does help our poorest parish communities, as we heard on "Announcement Sunday" when members of our Sister Parish reported to us at each Mass.     Every penny raised goes to help them meet their needs.
