HAPPENINGS  HERE  AT  ST. JUDE'S

We are all grateful to Carol Livingston for beginning the "Liturgy of the Word for Children" in our parish.    For 9 years Carol coordinated this unique ministry.    She moved-in and saw this need, and stepped forward to coordinate it.    Her children are now all in junior High or high school.    She now wants to move on to other ministries.     Our parish community has been truly blessed by this gift Carol Livingston has given us.    Now it is up to those of us with younger children to step-up to the plate and help guide this Liturgical Ministry.

"Children's Liturgy of the Word" is held during the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass for children grades kindergarten through fifth.     It helps those children break-open God's Word in simpler language.    This ministry runs from September through the middle of May.     

Your help is needed so this ministry may continue.    If you love children, there are many different ways you can help.    Of course, a coordinator is needed.    Helpers too are needed:   parishioners who lead the Liturgy of the Word, parishioners who help bring the children to and from the Media Room, parishioners who stop traffic (yet some do arrive or leave at that time), and someone who comes to get the group when the homily ends.    You will be trained!     You will not be left on your own!     Your commitment could be only once a month, if many moms and dads can see their way to volunteer.

Calling All Moms!  Please join us Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon as we share the thrill and joy of watching our children making friends and having fun within our Parish Community.

If you are new to our parish community, please come by our Pastoral Parish Office to meet the staff and priests and to register.     If time is of the essence, then garb a registration form from the back of the church, fill it out and turn it in.      Soon after registering, our Newcomers Hospitality will visit your home and share with you about our many parish activities, and then you can leave your imprint on who we are.

RELIGIOUS  EDUCATION  NEWS:
Pre-Schoolers to Seniors

Please come join us in preparing for next Sunday's Mass.     We meet to learn about and discuss the Readings for the upcoming Sunday Liturgy.    Each week we watch a 20 minute video, stopping the tape at appropriate moments to discuss the material presented.   We enjoy lively conversation, faith sharing moments, and good Christian fellowship, as we learn more about the Bible and thereby enable ourselves to be more fully prepared to celebrate next Sunday's Mass.

Tuesday mornings 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Room 7.       This week we will do the "Feast of the Transfiguration" (B)."    All are welcome!   Come prepare for next Sunday's Mass!   No preparation!     No homework!
