INVALID MARRIAGES
&
RE-MARRIAGE IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
Father Bill has been a Judge of the Metropolitan Tribunal of Los Angeles since being appointed by Cardinal McIntyre in 1969. He has also been a Judge for the Maronite Eparchial Tribunal since 1973, and Presiding Judge since 1980.
He will share his expertise tomorrow evening, Monday, at 7:30 p.m. in the church. He will explain what "Invalid Marriages" are, and how a Declaration of Invalidity can possibly be obtained.
If you, or anyone you know has been previously married and now wishes to possibly marry in the Catholic Church, invite them to this meeting tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. in the church.

DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS WEDNESDAY
This Wednesday, August 2nd, is the first Wednesday of the month, and so it is our Monthly "Day of Prayer" for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. The day begins with praying the Liturgy of the Hours Morning Prayer at 7:45 a.m. Then we celebrate Morning Mass, followed by Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Adoration continues all day till Reposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament at 7:15 p.m., which is followed by the 7:30 p.m. Mass and Novena to St. Jude.
Surely each of us can spend some time praying to Jesus this Wednesday to send laborers into His Vineyard, for the harvest is ready but the laborers are few.
NB: When Fr. Dan completes his term on June 30, 2001, we have been advised that as of today he will most likely "not" be replaced, and to begin making plans for that eventuality. Also, only four deacons will be ordained to the Priesthood next year, and one the year after that. Within 5 years there will only be 47 priests as Associate Pastors to help serve 287 parishes. Most parishes will be one priest parishes --- just the Pastor. If we are to have more priests, then we need to seriously pray for vocations.

FIRST FRIDAY THIS WEEK
This Friday, August 4th, will be First Friday. Confessions will be heard Thursday afternoon and evening at the usual times.
