HAVE YOU DONE YOUR PART TO HELP "OUR SISTER PARISH"?
If you have not yet made your 2000 Pledge Commitment to our Sister Parish, Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Los Angeles, and helping those less fortunate, please prayerfully consider doing so now or whenever your financial picture changes. We cannot ignore the needs of our poorest sisters and brothers. Rather, we need to stand in most heartfelt, and genuine support, with them.
"Together in Mission" truly does help our poorest parish communities, as we heard on "Announcement Sunday" when members of our Sister Parish reported to us at each Mass. Every penny raised goes to help them meet their needs.

"SUMMER SPIRIT DAY CAMP"
Camper Registration
The "2000 St. Jude Summer Spirit Day Camp" begins this Wednesday, July 5th. You can still register your child to attend.
Dates: This Wednesday, July 5th, through Friday, July 28th
Ages: 4 ½ years (with pre-school experience) to age 12
Fees include: Insurance, Camper Tee Shirt, and cost of materials.
Not Included: Magic Mountain Trip for older Day Campers
2000 St. Jude Summer Spirit Day Camp Registration Applications are available in the Parish Pastoral Office. Registration is on a first come basis. Payment in full must accompany your completed registration form.

PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
St. Jude's Parish Community is going to the Holy Land from October 21st, to November 1st, 2000. We leave one week after the Oktoberfest.
Cost: $2,170.00 net price per person in a double room. $455.00 supplement for a single room. Price includes round trip air-fare to Holy Land; arrival and departure transfers; two meals daily (breakfast and table d'hote dinner); farewell dinner party with wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea; porterage at airport; land transportation and guide; entrance fees to all sites; daily Mass at different Holy land shrines; 12 days of pilgrimage and over night stays in first class hotels. If anyone would like to be on the waiting list, please send in your name as cancellations often occur. Brochures are available in the Parish Pastoral Office for more information or to register for this Pilgrimage to Holy Land.
NB: For those who would like to visit Cairo and Luxor, there is a Side Trip for 8 days (3 days in hotel in Cairo, 4 days on ship on Nile, and last night in Cairo before returning) for an additional $1,500.00. The cost falls as the number rises of those going.

JOIN IN THE CELEBRATION OF
LITURGY OF HOURS
One and all are encouraged to join in praying Morning Prayer (Lauds) each morning at 7:45 a.m. You are also invited to join in praying Daytime Prayer before Noon Mass at 11:50 a.m. followed by the "Angelus".
Copies of the "Liturgy of the Hours" are provided in large print by the front doors of the church. Anyone wishing to own his/her own copy of the "Liturgy of the Hours" in big print may buy one at the Parish Pastoral Center.

CARE-GIVERS
"Respite & Renewal"
"Respite & Renewal" is a wonderful program designed to offer Care-Givers support.
We all become a Care Giver at some time during our lives. When we become a parent of an emotionally and/or physically disabled child; or we have elderly parents or relatives to care for; or we are involved in many bereavement or detention or other ministries that drain us even as we serve. From time to time we need a "Respite" and we need to be "Renewed".
This group meets every other Sunday afternoon in Rooms 3 & 4 of the Parish Hall from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m. Next gathering will meet next Sunday, July 9th. No dues! No fees! Just sharing and support and loveFor more information, please contact Margaret Pontius Evenings Only at 818 - 706 - 1842.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTER TRAINING
Leadership Training Workshops for Eucharistic Ministers is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday evenings, July 10th and 18th, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the church. All Eucharistic Ministers who wish to become, or to continue as, Team Leaders are required to participate in one of these sessions each year. Please call Bill Rubin to sign-up at 805 - 449-1373..
