CARE-GIVERS
"Respite & Renewal"

"Respite & Renewal" is a wonderful program designed to offer Care-Givers support.

We all become a Care Giver at some time during our lives.    When we become a parent of an emotionally and/or physically disabled child; or we have elderly parents or relatives to care for;   or we are involved in many bereavement or detention or other ministries that drain us even as we serve.   From time to time we need a
"Respite" and we need to be "Renewed".

This group meets every other Sunday afternoon in Rooms 3 & 4 of the Parish Hall from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m.     Next gathering will meet Sunday, June 25th.    No meeting the 18th as it is Father's Day.     No dues!     No fees!     Just sharing and support and love.

For more information, please contact Margaret Pontius
Evenings Only at 818 - 706 - 1842.

TRINITY SUNDAY

"Blessed be God the Father, and His only Begotten-Son, and the Holy Spirit."

The first thing our parents most probably taught us about our Catholic Christian faith was the "Sign of the Cross".     The last thing that the minister will do at our graveside is make the Sign of the Cross over our remains.    A Christian's life is marked "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

This Sunday's Readings speak to us about God the Father (as Originator of all life related to creation), sending His Son, the Word (for our salvation), and communicating the Spirit (related to our rebirth from water and the Spirit).

The revelation of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, tells us first of all what God is for us.     But as to the mysterious unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we can only stammer with inadequate human words and concepts.     Words and concepts, which are not able to even, begin to express the ineffable Mystery of God in Himself.     We want to know about and to understand this Mystery of Faith.

However, we must realize that more importantly than knowing "about" God, is to "know" God the way two close friends know one another.     In other words, to know God in an intimate person-to-person interpersonal relationship.     Such a "knowledge" cannot be truly expressed in human words or expressions.      Just try adequately expressing your love for so many people in your life.    Words fail to adequately say and express all, that you wish to relate and feel.       It is that kind of knowledge alone, which ultimately satisfies our human heart and mind about God.    "How deep are the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God!    How inscrutable His judgments, how unsearchable His ways!" (Romans 11:33).

LITURGICAL NORMS

We kneel during the Eucharistic Prayer, in accordance with the special Rescript given by Holy See for this country.   However, we stand at the Lord's Prayer and we remain standing until all have received Holy Communion, then we sit and spend some time in silence talking to Our Lord.  The Presider brings this silence to an end by praying aloud the Communion Prayer.     We then sit again for the Announcements.

BIBLE STUDY - Sunday to Sunday

Please come join us in preparing for next Sunday's Mass.     We meet to learn about and discuss the Readings for the upcoming Sunday Liturgy.    Each week we watch a 20 minute video, stopping the tape at appropriate moments to discuss the material presented.   We enjoy lively conversation, faith sharing moments, and good Christian fellowship, as we learn more about the Bible and thereby enable ourselves to be more fully prepared to celebrate next Sunday's Mass.

Tuesday mornings 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Room 7.       This week we will do the
"Solemnity of Body and Blood of Christ" (B)."    All are welcome!   Come prepare for next Sunday's Mass!   No preparation!     No homework!
