CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION Sunday, June 25th
On Sunday, June 25th, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and the Blood of Christ. His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, has urged all parishes to have a Eucharistic Procession this Jubilee Year that day. At our Holy Father's request, we will have a Procession after the 12:00 noon Mass. Different groups will have altars around our parking lot. Singing hymns of praise, we will process to the different altars and give the Blessing at each altar. We will conclude with a final Benediction in the church.
Any group or family who wishes to put up an altar is asked to contact Bill Rubin. What is entailed is simple. An altar consists of a table at least 29 inches high covered with a white cloth and with a corporal (you can use any white cloths from home, and you can obtain a corporal from the sacristy). Place four (4) candles on your altar in glass containers, so they remain lighted; also, put lots of flowers around your altar. In Europe, it is customary to make a religious picture on the ground in front of your altar from flower petals and leaves. This is not necessary. It must be noted that Jesus in His Eucharistic Presence walks over your picture in the persons of the priests.

ENCUENTRO 2000
Encuentro 2000 will hold its Next Session this Saturday, June 24th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at our Sister Parish, Holy Spirit in Los Angeles. We will car-pool. All are welcome! The theme for this session is: "Living in Solidarity and Justice . . . How can we strengthen our commitment to aid the poor and others most vulnerable among us?"
Encuentro 2000 is the National Celebration of the Jubilee Year by the Catholic Bishops of the United States. In each parish throughout our country, six participant friendly sessions are being held with the goal of bringing together ministries that make-up our American parishes and improving on how we interrelate. New parish members are particularly encouraged to attend and get involved.
We meet to discuss and learn, not to challenge nor to judge, nor to try to change others. Rather, through dialogue, we seek to develop better strategies for our parish to welcome all, celebrate racial, ethnic, cultural, and other group diversities. At the June 24th session we will focus on learning how to put our faith into action. What are the practical things we can do to promote justice and to make things more hospitable to the vulnerable and to help be supportive of the poor. We will learn how to better live out the "Jubilee Pledge". All are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please call Joe Bowman at 818 - 889 - 6879 after 6:00 p.m.
Don't forget to join us and be there on Saturday, June 24th at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall.

ROSARY MAKERS
Our Lady's Rosary Makers need your helping hands to make rosaries for missionary children, prisoners, homeless and the sick. Rosary makers in our nation are only able to supply one-tenth of all the rosaries needed in the world.
If you can help, please contact Theresia Tangkilisan at 818 - 591 - 8960, or Janelle Beck at 805 - 497 - 1977.

"TOGETHER IN MISSION"
If you have not yet made your 2000 Pledge Commitment to our Sister Parish and helping those less fortunate, please prayerfully consider doing so now or whenever your financial picture changes. We cannot ignore the needs of our poorest sisters and brothers. Rather, we need to stand in most heartfelt, and genuine support, with them.
"Together in Mission" truly does help our poorest parish communities, as we heard on "Announcement Sunday" when members of our Sister Parish reported to us at each Mass. Every penny raised goes to help them meet their needs.
