THE JUBILEE HOLY YEAR INDULGENCE
What Is An Indulgence? An Indulgence is "the remission before God of some or all the temporal punishment due to sins, already forgiven through the Sacrament of Penance".
What Is the Jubilee Holy Year Indulgence? It is a Special Indulgence granted by His Holiness during this Jubilee Year 2000.
How Do We Gain the Jubilee Holy Year Indulgence? Certain conditions need to be fulfilled by each person in order to gain this total remission of the temporal punishment due to our sins.
making a worthy Sacramental Confession,
worthily receiving Holy Communion,
praying for our Holy Father saying:
the Creed, an Our Father,
a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.
either making a Pilgrimage by visiting a Church,
or performing charitable works (caring for sick or elderly, visiting one in prison
or in trouble care, etc.
How Often Can we Gain this Jubilee Holy Year Indulgence? We can only gain this Indulgence once per day.
For Whom Can this Indulgence Be Gained? We can gain this Jubilee Holy Year Indulgence for someone who has died,

JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE CHURCHES
One of the ways to gain the Jubilee Indulgence is by making a Pilgrimage to the sacred shrines in the Holy Land or to the major Basilicas in Rome, or one of the churches designated by our Cardinal Archbishop. The pilgrim must pray to fulfill all the requirements listed above, and visit one of the churches designated by our Archbishop:
Mission San Buenaventura

Blessed Junipero Serra
5205 Upland Road, Camarillo.
Each parish has been asked to make a "Pilgrimage together" after seeking God's healing mercy and reconciliation. Individuals can also seek these graces on their own after they have tried their best to choose life, have forgiven all who have hurt them, and have sought to be reconciled with God and neighbor.
Our Parish Pilgrimage to Mission San Buenaventura will be on the third Sunday of December to conclude our Encuentro 2000 program. Buses will be provided. Sign-Up for the buses will be held during November and at Encuentro 2000 sessions. The perfect preparation for this Pilgrimage of Faith would be to take an active part in the Encuentro 2000 program of only six sessions.

HOLY YEAR DOOR IN YOUR HOME
To Remind You to Open the Doors of your
Hearts to Christ?
Pope John Paul II has issued a Call and a Challenge that each individual "Open Wide the Doors to Christ" --- the doors of our hearts and minds and souls. We can accomplish this by becoming reconciled with ourselves; by reconciling with family members with whom we live; by reconciling with those at work or school with whom we spend a lot of time; by reconciling and forgiving anyone who has offended or hurt us; and by reconciling with any we have hurt or offended.
YOUR JUBILEE DOOR
We have been encouraged by our Holy Father to mark "a" door in our homes, schools, parishes, and even our offices with a Door Hanger stating "Open Wide the Doors to Christ." There are packets in our Parish Pastoral Office for making a Jubilee Door in your home.
