ST. JUDE PARISH SCHOOL NEWS
TOOLS 4 SCHOOLS
St. Jude the Apostle Parish School is once again participating in the Oaks Mall "Tools 4 Schools" program. This unique program provides educational materials to school children. All that you need to do to help our Parish School Children, is to save the receipts of all of your purchases that you make at the Oaks Mall from now through this December 31, 2000. Take a minute to stop at the Center Court and have them credit those receipts to our Parish School.
Except for that extra minute, it costs you nothing and you help our Parish School. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Cummings at 805 - 496 - 2424.
SCRIP
"Scrip Certificates" are sold at the Parish School Office during Regular School Hours. Credit cards are accepted. You can obtain a complete listing of all "Scrip Certificates" available by calling Sharon at 818 - 707 - 2447.
LABELS & BOXTOPS
We are still collecting Campbell's soup labels, and General Mills boxtops. At the end of this school year, we can turn these in for free equipment and/or cash. Please continue to clip and save these labels and boxtops, and bring them to the box at the front doors of the church or to the Parish School Office. Thanks!

COMING EVENTS FOR DEANERY 4 YOUNG ADULTS
Deanery 4 Annual Desert Retreat Experience for Young Adults this coming weekend: May 12th-14th. It is open to singles and couples in their late teens, 20's and 30's. Location is St. Andrew's Abbey, 31001 N. Valyermo Road in Valyermo, CA.
Theme this year is: "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" Have you ever wondered what God has planned for you? This weekend will provide an opportunity to seek God's individual plan for each of us and to partner with God in our decision-making process.
Cost: $85.00 per person includes meals, lodging and retreat materials. All you need besides clothing and personal items, is your Bible.
Transportation: Carpools will leave from St. Jude's in Westlake Village at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12th.

Deanery 4 Monthly Young Adult Diners' Club, May 20th, Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. This month we will meet at the Simi Valley Marie Callender's. Each month we meet at a different restaurant in an upbeat and lively social setting to meet other young adults and discover culinary delights. WHITEWATER RAFTING
High school youth are invited to join with our St. Jude High Adventure Team for a Whitewater Rafting Experience on the South Fork of the American River. The Team will travel to the river outpost camp on Monday, June 19th, raft on Tuesday and Wednesday (camping overnight by the river), and travel back home on Thursday, June 22nd. The outfitter is Mariah Wilderness Adventures.
Cost per person is $205.00 which includes rafting, camping, camp food, and transportation. It is suggested that each person brings along about $18.00 pocket money for incidentals and extra munchies.
Departure will be Monday, June 19th, at 9:00 a.m. sharp from St. Jude's Youth Room. We will return home to this same location Thursday, June 22nd, about 5:00 p.m.
Those going must be 14 years of age or older. Details subject to change!
