COME HOME FOR EASTER and the New Millennium
Our parish family is also sincerely inviting any non-Catholics to come and learn about us. Why not ask your non-Catholic spouse or relative or friend? We are strongly urging all parishioners, and in a special way children, teens and young adults, to invite at least two (2) people to come and find out about us. These people can be virtually anyone: Christian or non-Christian, people with no religion. There will be also be a special evening for all these folks tomorrow evening, Monday, at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Invite someone and then bring them with you tomorrow evening.

"TOGETHER IN MISSION"
If you have not yet made your 2000 Pledge Commitment to our Sister Parish and helping those less fortunate, please prayerfully consider doing so now or whenever your financial picture changes. We cannot ignore the needs of our poorest sisters and brothers. Rather, we need to stand in most heartfelt, and genuine support, with them.
"Together in Mission" truly does help our poorest parish communities, as we heard on "Announcement Sunday" when members of our Sister Parish reported to us at each Mass. Every penny raised goes to help them meet their needs.

PARISH MISSION BEGINS NEXT WEEKEND
Our Parish Mission begins this coming weekend: April 8th to 13th. Two of Father Walt's conferees --- Father Pat Mullin, C.M. and Father Jeff Harvey, C.M. --- will preach the Parish Mission.
Father Jeff was ordained in 1993, and is currently in great demand as a homilist and a preacher. His current assignments include serving as an Assistant in the Archdiocesan Office of African-American Catholics, and Vocation Director for the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers.
Father Pat was ordained in 1975, and is currently conducting Recovery Retreats and Parish Missions. Father Pat is also superior of the Vincentian Community at the De Paul Center in Montebello.
Fathers Pat and Jeff will divide the conferences during our Parish Mission. Both will be available for confession if requested.
Besides preaching at all the weekend Masses next weekend, Fathers Pat and Jeff will preach after the 8:00 am Mass and after the 12:05 pm Mass Monday thru Thursday. They will also preside at and deliver a homily during the 7:30 pm Mass Monday thru Wednesday.
Thursday they will offer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick after the Homily after the 12:05 p.m. Mass. To receive this Sacrament, a person must have some serious health difficulty. Such a difficulty might be retardation, emotional and severe stress problems, any manner of serious physical health conditions, and old age.
Thursday Evening our Parish Mission will close with our Lenten/Easter Communal Penance Service. A total of 12 priests will hear confessions that evening, so the lines should be short and the wait even shorter.
Prayerful consider coming next week to the Parish Mission. Also, prayerfully consider not coming alone, but bringing some guests with you.

STANDING AT MASS
We are now standing in accord with the rubrics from the "Our Father" till all have received the Holy Communion. We are standing as these rubrics were imposed by His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, in the Latin Edition of 1976 Sacramentary.
The purpose behind this practice, is to remind the Gathered Assembly that many though we are, we become one body in Christ and one with each other in Christ. As one body, all doing the same thing, we stand together while singing together the Communion Hymn of praise unto the Lord. Only after all have received, do we then sit together to spend some time in quiet meditation and prayer with the Eucharistic Lord within us.
We stand from the "Our Father" till all have received Holy Communion. Those who cannot stand for health reasons, are allowed to sit as the rubrics in the Sacramentary direct.
