If you forgot to take home a copy of your bulletin you will find it on the web! If there is anything you would like to see on our Web Site please let us know.

We will be able to update your registration and send you contribution statements upon request. In order to do this, however, we need your e-mail address. Please send it to marie@stjudeswv.org so we can include it in your file.

 Encuentro 2000 offers six sessions of meeting and greeting, prayer , readings of Christ's and His church's teachings, dialogue, reflection and celebration.  By meeting in small groups and sharing our own life's experiences, we will better understand and then unify all factions, cultures and groups within our own parish community.

All sessions are conducted solely by members of our own parish community.  They are user friendly...no judgments, criticisms or confrontations.  Facilitators will help conduct these sessions by presenting readings of leading prayer or song, or leading a discussion group.

All in our parish community are invited to participate in one or more of these six sessions which will be held throughout the year.  The first will be held in the parish hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26th.

After Mass today you will find sign-up sheets at the main entrance and main parking lot doors to the church for those who would like to participate in one or more of these six sessions and a separate sheet if you are interested in being a facilitator.

TODAY'S READINGS

First Reading - God delivers the commandments to the people through Moses (Exodus 20:1-17).
Second Reading - Paul proclaims Jesus crucified, a stumbling block and foolishness to unbelievers, but the power and wisdom of God to believers (Corinthians 1:22-25).
Gospel - After driving the money changers and merchants out of the temple, Jesus speaks of raising the temple of his body in three days (John 2:13-25).

FACILITATORS

Encuentro 2000 Facilitators - To those of you who signed up last week to express an interest in being an Encuentro 2000 facilitator in our parish community, that is, to help with our programs...thank you!!!

ALL FACILITATORS SHOULD ATTEND AN IMPORTANT TRAINING SESSION ON SATURDAY, APRIL 1ST, AT 1:00 P.M. IN ROOM 7 OF THE PARISH HALL.  If you arrive on time, we will finish by 3:30 p.m.!  Hopefully this will be our only training session.  Please be prompt.

Mary Braitman, a regional coordinator from the Office of Religious Education of the Archdiocese will lead this session.  Remember that there is a basic format for Encuentro 2000 programs, but we have some leeway at our parish level, soooo...bring your idea and your energy!

BULLETIN AND VERBAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Any person or organization wishing to submit an article for the bulletin MUST submit the article in writing to the parish office no later than Wednesday morning of the week prior to the bulletin the announcement is to appear in.

Verbal announcements must be submitted in writing no later than Wednesday of the week they are to be read.

You may drop it at the office, fax it to 818 889-3405, or e-mail it to marie@stjudeswv.org.

ENCUENTRO 2000

Or...Encounter 2000...is our opportunity, at our parish community level, to actively participate in a key program of the Church for this, Jubilee year 2000.  Our banner above the Altar announces the Jubilee Year 2000 theme…"Open wide the doors to Christ."  Reflect then on the theme of Encuentro 2000…"Many faces in God's house."

Encuentro 2000 is the national program sponsored by the Catholic Bishops of the United States, designed to bring together participants from all cultures and ethnicities in all parishes to meet (encounter) and learn more about each other
