SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT --- YEAR "B" --- MARCH 19, 2000

BORN AGAIN OF WATER AND
THE HOLY SPIRIT

By God's gift, through water and the Holy Spirit, the following infants were reborn this past weekend to everlasting life. May God our loving Father, Jesus, our Lord and Brother, and the Holy spirit make them always, wherever they may be, faithful members of His holy people, the Church.

Let us welcome these new members into our parish family, and let us also congratulate their parents for sharing their faith with their children.

SPECIAL PRAYERS FOR HOLY FATHER'S INTENTIONS

Our Holy Father will be visiting the Holy Land this week from March 20th to 26th.     The purpose of this Pastoral Visit is to pray at the various shrines which are sacred for the three major faiths:   Jewish, Muslim and Christian.     His primary prayer and hope is for an increased sense of unity and harmony among all Jews, Muslims and Christians.

We are all asked to pray for Pope John Paul II and this intention during this coming week, especially this coming Friday, March 24th, and also this coming weekend, March 26th and 27th.      Many Jewish communities and Islamic communities will be joining us in this prayer on this coming Friday, the 24th

Our Cardinal Archbishop asks that we all make a special effort to join in this prayer this Friday.
