JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE CHURCHES
One of the ways to gain the Jubilee Indulgence is by making a Pilgrimage to the sacred shrines in the Holy Land or to the major Basilicas in Rome, or one of the churches designated by our Cardinal Archbishop. The pilgrim must pray:
for forgiveness for his/her sins, for the grace to be truly reconciled to God and all those he/she has hurt or offended in anyway, for the intentions of the Holy Father; and the pilgrim must also receive the Sacraments of Penance
and Holy Communion within eight days of making this pilgrimage.
Local churches in the Santa Barbara Region designated as Holy Year Pilgrimage Churches are:
Mission San Buenaventura 211 E. Main Street, Ventura Blessed Junipero Serra 5205 Upland Road, Camarillo.
Each parish has been asked to make a "Pilgrimage together" after seeking God's healing mercy and reconciliation. Individuals can also seek these graces on their own after they have tried their best to choose life, have forgiven all who have hurt them, and have sought to be reconciled with God and neighbor.

HOLY YEAR DOOR IN YOUR HOME To Remind You to Open the Doors of your Hearts to Christ?
Pope John Paul II has issued a Call and a Challenge that each individual "Open Wide the Doors to Christ" --- the doors of our hearts and minds and souls. We can accomplish this only by opening the doors of our hearts and becoming reconciled with ourselves; by reconciling with family members with whom we live; by reconciling with those at work or school with whom we spend a lot of time; by reconciling and forgiving anyone who has offended or hurt us; and by reconciling with any we have hurt or offended. We have put up a banner on the Main Interior Doors of our church reminding us to be about the work of reconciling, healing and forgiving during 2000.

SLEEPING BAGS & BLANKETS STILL ARE NEEDED
Dolores Mission in East Los Angeles still has a real need for sleeping bags and blankets. In fact, it is a Desperate Need! Sleeping bags are particularly needed as the homeless take them with them when they move on. Also needed are men's shower sandals in all sizes.
If you can help, please bring your donations to the Parish Pastoral Office. Louise Brennan will make sure these items get to Dolores Mission as soon as possible.

CARE-GIVERS "Respite & Renewal"
"Respite & Renewal" is a wonderful program designed to offer Care-Givers support.
We all become a Care Giver at some time during our lives. When we become a parent of an emotionally and/or physically disabled child; or we have elderly parents or relatives to care for; or we are involved in many bereavement or detention or other ministries that drain us even as we serve. From time to time we need a "Respite" and we need to be "Renewed".
This group meets every other Sunday afternoon in Rooms 3 & 4 of the Parish Hall from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m. Next gathering is today, Sunday, February 13th. No dues! No fees! Just sharing and support and love.
For more information, please contact Margaret Pontius Evenings Only at 818 - 706 - 1842.
