MINISTRY FORMATION COURSE
Catechists, Youth Ministry & Confirmation & RCIA Teams, Liturgical Ministers
Wednesday Evenings

You may still join the Archdiocesan "Basic Faith Formation Course"
being offered in our Parish Hall Wednesday evenings.    You have missed two classes, which need to be made up, but you still may sign-up.     Classes are held each Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in our Parish Hall through April 5th, plus two Saturdays.

Anyone involved in any ministry is urged to take this "Basic Faith Formation Course".    This is the first step in developing ourselves as proclaimers of the message of Jesus Christ.    Whether you are pursuing Archdiocesan Certification as a Catechist, Youth Ministry Team Member, Confirmation Team Member, RCIA Team Member, Liturgical Minister, this Course fulfills the Basic Faith Formation requirement for State Certification, as set down by the California Conference of Catholic Bishops.    This Course is also open to anyone who would like to update their basic understanding of our Catholic Faith, and have their faith enriched.

Topics to be covered include:   Images of God, Revelation, Jesus, Scripture, Church, Sacraments, Liturgy, Morality, Social Justice, Prayer, and Spirituality.

The Course Presenters are Certified Master Catechists:   Vince Tomkovicz and Joan Nardone of our parish, and also Linda Esparza.

To pre-register before attending this Wednesday, or for more information, please call
818 - 889 - 0612 during Religious Ed Office Hours.      You may register right before class; do come a little early to do so.    Anyone involved in any parish ministry will have the Course Fee reimbursed upon completion of the course.

If you were once a Catholic,
or if you still consider yourself a Catholic,
but have not come around a Catholic Church in quite a while,

You are invited to come back home.    We miss you!    We are saving a place in a pew for you.    We are looking for you!    We  would do anything we possibly could, to help you come and once again become a part of us.    We pray that you can at least come and share with us what is keeping you away:   some Catholic teaching?     a marriage problem?   something that someone said that hurt you deeply?     something that someone failed to do to make you feel welcome and wanted?      Please consider giving us another chance!      We are sorry, if we drove you away.     Please have it in your heart to forgive us!     We need you to be whole!     You are an intimate part of our parish community.     We need to you to be able to fully help us celebrate each Sunday!

You are invited to come on Monday evening, January 24th, at 7:30 p.m. to the parish hall for a special gathering.      Fr. Bill and all of us would like to extend a warm hand of welcome and say "hello".     We want, we need you!     Come, and help us become one again!

And, if you are a Fully Initiated member of the Catholic Faith
and an involved member of our community,

"You" are what makes St. Jude's Catholic Community the beautiful family that we are.     Our parish priests (Frs. Bill, Dan, Walt and John) enjoy concelebrating Mass with you each week.    In fact, each Sunday our priests when celebrating Mass, and breaking Bread with you, thank God for the gift of each one of you.      You are all such a gift to each of us!   When we all receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we truly do become what we receive for the Lord is truly present within each of us.    That is such a joy and truth and gift to share.

Fr. Bill and all of us would love for you to bring a friend on Monday evening, January 24th, at 7:30 p.m. to share our peace and joy, our warmth and love that we all find in our Catholic family here at St. Jude's.

We are all looking forward for you to be with us on Monday, January 24th.     We want to shake your hands most warmly and firmly in welcome and warmth.      We want to hear all you have to say and share.     We want to seek your forgiveness, if that is needed.    Maybe we have not been warm enough, inviting enough, or have said or done something.     We want to know you, and listen to you.     We hope you will come to know us and all we are as Catholic Christians.     We all are looking forward to seeing you on the 24th of January, 2000.     Till then, may God help you all have the best Christmas ever, filled with His choicest graces and blessings!

AN INVITATION
from Fr. Bill and our Parish Family
If you are not a Catholic:

You are always welcome amongst us!    You may come as often as you like to our Sunday Eucharist, and/or to any of our other celebrations or activities.    You may participate in almost every activity without any strings attached.

You are also invited to come and find-out what we Catholic Christians are all about.    In fact, we would like to tell you a little about us.    What we believe, how we express it, how we celebrate it, and how we live it.      We are not perfect.      In fact, we readily acknowledge that we are sinners who must admit our sins and must try to repent and to change our ways, so as to believe more firmly in the Gospel and thus live-out its message.    We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Promised One, and that He came to save us.     We very much believe in the forgiveness of sin, and in God's unconditional love for all His children.    We have experienced God's movement and presence in the Catholic Christian Church.

We would love to have you a part of our community, and so we invite to join us.      We will have a wonderful night on Monday, January 24th, in our parish hall at 7:30 p.m. to meet you and hear your stories.    Fr. Bill and all of us, would delight in personally extending our hands in greeting and welcome.
